Serotonin Norepinephrine Re-uptake Inhibitor
Lets talk about antidepressants. Who takes them? Good? Bad? Side effects? Which one? Don't want to say? Shut up? To clarify- when I say antidepressants, I mean the classes of meds (SSRI, SNRI, MAOI, TCA/Tetracycline etc) used to treat anxiety and mood disorders. As some one who takes them and is relatively open (but also not really) about it, I feel like its one of those things that is a big unsaid. Like abortion and miscarriage, suicide and a bunch of other things. It's something that hangs in the air in conversations about health and life for me and I definitely feel verbal constipation when the topic comes up. FYI I take "cymbalta" - Duloxetine. I feel like they aren't really spoken about much - or maybe this is just in my circles? I know in my early 20s when I needed them most I was so averse to taking them.
